(ATCHISON, Kan.) Larry Wilcox caught one last glimpse of what he'll be working with come fall in Sunday's annual Benedictine Spring Game, a 16-14 win for the Black squad over the White.

Sophomore Nico Ramirez threw two touchdowns, while junior Keenan Kruger picked up another. As the only returning quarterbacks with in-game experience for the Ravens, both are in the mix to replace previous three-year starter Bill Noonan.

"Last year, we came in knowing all the spots were laid out," Kruger said. "This year, everyone came in with a chance. If I had to take one thing from Bill, it was what defenses will do in certain situations. That's what he did for me."

Wilcox isn't willing to rule out anyone in the race before fall.

"It's not decided yet. We still have the full summer and next fall," Ramirez said. "That's when it's going to start buckling down. It's definitely all around the board, not just at the quarterback position. Spots are wide open."

Running back Cameron Fore, the Ravens' all-time scoring leader, is also among the 34 seniors that left. Wilcox is still high on his skill position depth and believes it'll lift whoever he selects as his signal caller.

"Primarily, we had a chance to play a lot of people, and that's what we wanted to do," he said. "We've got a lot of guys to take a look at. Our running backs today performed well. They're hungry to get in the mix for that position next season."

Benedictine saw a co-Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship and an NAIA Playoff berth as part of a 10-win campaign a year ago. Wilcox expects this next crop to understand those accomplishments as the standard.

"I think those are the types of things that our guys in our program, on a yearly basis, consider they ought to aspire to. Our guys know that that's not only something we're hoping for but it's also an expectation."
