(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Central Oklahoma jumped on Northwest early in each of Friday afternoon's games in Maryville as the Bronchos beat the Bearcats 7-1 in the first game, and 9-7 in the second contest of a doubleheader.

Northwest (19-27, 12-12 MIAA) is seventh in the MIAA standings, and need at least one win against Northeastern State Saturday to clinch a berth in the MIAA Tournament.

UCO starting pitcher Kalynn Schrock shut down the Bearcats allowing just one earned run and striking out 11 in the opening contest. She also had a hit and drove in a run in the contest.

Stephanie Mark drove in the lone run for Northwest in the loss.

Kristen Uthe and Madison Jones each drove in two runs in the second game. The Bearcats scored once in the second inning and six more runs in the third frame, but still trailed the Bronchos who scored eight in the first three innings.

Sarah Baldwin took the loss in game two allowing eight runs -- five earned -- on 11 hits.

The Bearcats wrap up the regular season at home Saturday with a doubleheader against Northeastern State.
