(COFFEYVILLE, Kan.) As Northwest baseball opened MIAA play with a 13-6 win over Nebraska Kearney, the team cemented head coach Darin Loe's name in the program's record books.

Loe became Bearcat baseball's all-time wins leader collecting his 370th victory as manager at Northwest Missouri State. His career win total now sits at 526.

Northwest jumped on UNK quickly in Loe's record-clinching win. Austin Wulf singled home Eric McGlauflin in the first inning to take an early lead. After the Lopers tied, Jon Pomatto put the Bearcats ahead for good with a solo home run to lead off the second. Northwest scored two in the second, four in the fourth, and three runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Their 13 runs are the most the 'Cats have scored since driving in 17 on opening day.

Northwest and Nebraska Kearney play a doubleheader in Coffeyville Saturday, and the final game of the series Sunday.
