Northwest Senior to Play in D-II All-Star Game

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Northwest point guard DeShaun Cooper capped off a career last week that could go down as one of the best in Bearcat history. He sits at fourth all-time in scoring at 1,702 points, second in assists at 489, and third in three-pointers made.

Now he can add all-star to his resumé.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches selected Cooper to play in the Reese's Division II College All-Star Game on March 28th at 7pm in Evansville, Ind.

The St. Louis native was named MIAA Player of the Year this season averaging 17.6 points and four assists per game. He was also the driving force behind a Northwest squad that won 24 games, claimed a share of the conference title for the second time in three years, and reached the Sweet 16.

Two seniors from each of the eight regions are chosen to play in the game. Cooper will be joined by Missouri Southern's Marquis Addison on the West all-star team.
