(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Ryker Fox set the tone for Northwest in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon, but the Bearcats couldn't carry it into their second game against No. 19 Central Missouri.

Fox tossed a complete game as Northwest (20-17, 15-14 MIAA) picked up a 4-3 win, but the Mules took the late game 9-0.

Nikko Pablo had a pair of hits and a RBI in the early contest for the Bearcats. Brandon Huske and Austin Wulff also drove in a run in the win.

Fox struck out three and allowed just one earned run on five hits and three walks. He improves to 6-2 on the season with a 4.02 ERA.

After starting the early game at second base, Pablo took the mound for the Bearcats looking for the doubleheader sweep.

In just his second start of the season, the freshman gave up four runs, three earned, in 3 2/3 innings of work.

The Bearcats only picked up five hits off UCM in game two -- two of them coming from Ryan Abernathy.

Northwest is back on the road Thursday as they begin a four-game series against Emporia State.
