(CLEVELAND, Ohio) Despite a 4-1 loss to Central Division foe Cleveland to finish a three-game series, three Royals players got good news on Sunday.

Catcher Salvador Perez, left fielder Alex Gordon, and closer Greg Holland have been named to the 2014 Major League Baseball All Star Game. All three represented Kansas City in last year's game in New York City.

Perez will get the start behind the plate, filling in for injured Orioles catcher Matt Wieters, who won the fan vote. The Royals standout caught Mariano Rivera's final All Star appearance as a reserve last season.

All three players were elected via player vote as no Royals player finished in the top five in fan voting at any position.

The summer exhibition is set for Sunday, July 13 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
