The Astros swept the Royals Wednesday winning the series finale 6-5.
After scoring just one run in the first two games of the series, Kansas City jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. The lead was built in part by a Kendrys Morales two-run shot. The homer was Morales' tenth of the year.
In the fourth and fifth innings, the Astros used a little power of their own to get back in it.
Chris Carter and Marwin Gonzalez each hit a solo home run. After the solo shot from Gonzalez in the fifth, Jose Altuve drove in one run on a single. That was followed by Evan Gattis driving in two more with a single.
The back and forth game picked up again in the seventh. Jarrod Dyson delivered a two out, two RBI triple to tie the game at five.
In the bottom of the seventh, Chris Carter grounded a ball to Mike Moustakas at third that scored Altuve. The play was challenged by Ned Yost, but Altuve was ruled safe on the play.
Edinson Volquez got the no-decision going five innings allowing eight hits, five runs and striking out eight batters.
The loss went to Kelvin Herrera who dropped to 1-2 on the season.
The Royals begin a four game series with the Twins on Thursday at home. First pitch is set for Thursday night at 7:10.
