Smith will replace Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady, who pulled out of the game after Sunday's AFC Championship Game loss to Denver, while Johnson will replace injured 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman.
Their additions brings the total number of Chiefs pro bowlers to ten. They join running back Jamaal Charles, kick returner Dexter McCluster, left tackle Branden Albert, corner back Brandon Flowers, safety Eric Berry, defensive tackle Dontari Poe, and linebackers Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. It's the most the team has ever sent to the game in a single season.
Johnson led the Chiefs with 110 tackles while also recording 4 1/2 sacks and two interceptions. It's his third straight Pro Bowl appearance.
Smith led an offensive resurgence in the second half of his first season in Kansas City, totaling 3,313 and 23 touchdowns to eight interceptions. This will be his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
The 2014 Pro Bowl will be played at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Honalulu, Hawaii.
