(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Northwest softball held off Truman State for 8-3 and 4-2 wins Sunday. The Bearcats (22-12, 10-8) have now won three straight after suffering a four-game skid.
Jenna Creger (10-7) took the mound in game one, striking out seven and allowing three runs in seven innings. She got solid run support with three RBI coming from Kristen Uthe and one each from Candace Miller, Hailee Hendricks, and Rachael Schmitz.
The Bulldogs (21-13, 9-9) struck first on the day in the fourth with Laura Miller's RBI. The Bearcats punched back with four scores in the bottom of the frame and never looked back.
Truman State took a two-run lead into the later stages of game two with just four hits off Abbi Vitosh (8-3). Northwest picked up two runs in each of the last two innings with RBI from Miller, Schmitz, and Kristine Labertew.
The Bearcats are off until Friday when they continue their homestand against Emporia State.
