Bishop LeBlond Students Earn High Marks on ACT Tests

LeBlond Principal Solon Haynes said 78 percent of the class earned scores at or above the national average of 21.6.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A private school in St. Joseph is celebrating success on student ACT scores.

The class of 2012 at Bishop LeBlond High School earned an average ACT composite score of 23.2.

LeBlond Principal Solon Haynes said 78 percent of the class earned scores at or above the national average of 21.6.

Another notable achievement with the tests, 93 percent scored at or above the college readiness score for English Composition.

Haynes said that means those students have a 50 percent chance of earning a B or higher in the college course.

"To have 93 percent achieve that benchmark is phenomenal," Haynes said in a news release. "Our entire educational community -- teachers, students and parents can be proud of how they worked together to help our students prepare for future success."

Ninety-six percent of the 47 graduates in LeBlond's class of 2012 took the ACT test.
