Boil Advisory Issued for Easton Following Water Main Break

Mayor Twila Ellington said the advisory will remain in effect for water customers until further notice.
(EASTON, Mo.) A water main break in Easton prompted a boil advisory Monday.

Mayor Twila Ellington said the advisory will remain in effect for water customers until further notice.

During the advisory, customers should boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to cooking or drinking.

Ellington also provided the following instructions:

1. Dispose of ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled.
2. Continue boiling all water for cooking or drinking until the cause of the contamination has been fixed.
3. Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled.
4. Disinfect food contact surfaces (dishes) by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water
