Buchanan County Commissioners met with expo planners, and signed the application for the Missouri Finance Development Board to review.
The will allow fundraising for the project to go a little further, and give potential donors the chance to increase their donation dollars with the tax credit.
Expo planners say they hope this opportunity will help Northwest Missouri grow.
"We think this is a project that will really make Northwest Missouri and strong leader in the animal science industry, and also in the agriculture industry, which is really the roots of what we do good here," said Sharon Cornelius.
The 150-acre expo center will be off highway-36, near Interstate 29.
The company says they hope to hear an answer, from the board, by the end of the year.
