Bear was born April 28, 1960 in Platte City to Walter Elijah and Retta Mae (Carrell) Browning. He was a lifelong resident of Platte City, and 1979 graduate of the Platte County R-III High School. Bear worked for Myer's Oil Company in Platte City, and as a heavy equipment operator for the Missouri Department of Transportation. Bear was a lover of life, who enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed fishing. Bear was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by: his brothers Donnie (Sherry) Carrell of Gladstone, MO, Walter (Kay) Browning, Jr. of Liberty, MO, and Barry Rock of Platte City; his sisters Brenda (William) Poole of Platte City, Denise Browning of Platte City, Dimitri (Rob) Cromwell of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Jeanine (Pedro) Anes of Toby Hanna, PA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
