Cherry Mash has Long Tradition with Krug Park Lights

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) In the 30 years that Krug Park in St. Joseph has been decorated with lights, Cherry Mash candy has been a treat at the end of the tour.

While many cities have parks with Christmas lights, St. Joseph is unique for handing out Cherry Mash.

The candy is produced locally and is handed out to spread holiday cheer.

"It's made by Chase Candies and they've been making Cherry Mash for years and years," Optimist Club's Richard Teubner said.

Drivers can donate money to the Optimist Club at the end of the tour, but the candy is free.

Teubner said they have gone through too many Cherry Mashes to count.
