According to police, the caller claims to represent the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe or the Rangley Hospital, located in Colorado.

The scam appears to be targeting the elderly, using questions about prescription medication to gain personal information.

Police say the number used in the suspected scam is 866-218-7985.

Rangely Hospital posted an alert on its website about the alleged scam. The hospital urges anyone who receives a call like this to simply hang up and not give out any personal information over the phone.
