Local Volunteers Share Stories from Flood Relief Effort in Colorado

Volunteers from the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief group recently returned home from Colorado.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A local group - Southern Baptist Disaster Relief - recently returned from Colorado, where they spent a week helping with flood relief.

The volunteers were station in the Lyons area, where they spent the week ministering to victims and cleaning homes.

Although they are not there anymore, they said there are still ways people in the community can help.

"Just reach out. There's nothing too small that they can't do," said Barb Gaines, volunteer.

"We need the prayers for the victims and for the volunteers. We need people to financially give to support the efforts, and those that are able we need to go and actually do the physical work and be there for the support of the victims," said Charles McCrary.
