The Missouri Farm Bureau says the ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving meal for 10 is down $3.26 in the state this year compared to last.
Prices for most of the components have dropped this year, including turkeys which are about 18 cents per pound less this year. Supply of turkeys in cold storage is up about 4 percent from last year and production remains strong.
The farm bureau estimates the cost for a 16-pound turkey and all the fixings at $48.61 this year. The American Farm Bureau estimates the same meal to be $49.04.
