(MARYVILLE, Mo.) A 90-year-old grocery store sacker in northwest Missouri has been nominated for a statewide award.

The Outstanding Older Worker contest of Missouri honored Jim Watson from the Maryville Hy-Vee.

Watson is ninety years old and has worked at Hy-Vee for the past twelve years.

Members from city council, the chamber and Sam Graves office showed up in support for Watson.

Watson says it's because of the people that keeps him working at Hy-Vee.

"The people that work here, the people you get acquainted with that come in here, of course I've lived around here for several years and I know a lot of the people that come in here," said Jim Watson.

Watson will represent the northwest region in Jefferson City next month.

He will be up against three other nominees for the state wide title.
