Chiefs Star Arrested for Marijuana Possession

Dwayne Bowe was arrested Sunday night for speeding and possession of marijuana.
(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) One week before the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs biggest game of the season, the team's star wide receiver was dealt a setback off the field.

Dwayne Bowe was arrested Sunday night in Riverside for speeding and possession of a controlled substance.

Riverside police pulled Bowe over for driving 48 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, and found more than ten grams of marijuana in a bag. An additional 4.2 grams were in a passenger's backpack.

It's unclear if the wide receiver will face a suspension as early as this Sunday when the Chiefs play the one-loss Broncos Sunday night in Denver.

Bowe was suspended for four games in 2009 when he violated the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy.

Bowe signed a five-year, $56 million contract in the offseason. He has 33 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns in 2013.
