A trio of Chiefs are vying to be the new lead blocker for Larry Johnson.
But the question is which one will that be?
For the third straight season Larry Johnson will have a new fullback.
With 22 games under his belt Oliver Hoyt is the most experienced.
Chris Manderino has spent the last two seasons on the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad.
And the one who seems to be the longest shot might have the best chance
Mike Cox is a rookie free agent but played last season at Georgia Tech under new offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.
And each one has to make their own case
"I got one up on everybody being in this program for four years I could almost play quarterback I know it so well," says Cox.
"Im very tough hard nosed blocker and I can catch the ball out of the backfield," Manderino says.
"Im the only fullback with game experience I know the tempo the intensity and I dominated linebackers in this league for two years," Hoyt says.
But Johnson says he wants a fullback that, "can knock em down thats the only thing i look for."
And the trio in front of 27 is still looking for a roster spot.
Cox states, " I was born a fullback i know my role is blocking catching passes in the flat just old school fullback."
"Just keep working hard and stay healthy and impress people out here," Manderino says.
Preseason game is coming around. Perform on special teams and do the offense," Hoyt States
Theyll have a chance to do that very soon.
