Barbecue teams smoked chicken, ribs and other foods in an attempt to win awards.
There was also different games and prizes for children.
Children's Advocacy Center Director Joyce Estes said this fundraiser is an important event because it is how they fund the majority of their services.
"We're a not for profit," she said. "All of our money comes from donations, fundraisers and some grants and stuff like that but this is really a big part of how we keep going."
Pamphlets handed out at the barbecue also provided information on child abuse.
Estes said today's weather helped with the good turnout.
