The topic is now part of a service project underway in St. Joseph.
Southside Rotary kicked off a campaign to speak to students at St. James school this week.
Volunteers stressed the importance of communication when students think they're being bullied.
"Talking with them about day to day activities and what happens. Have you been bullied? Has this happened? How do you react? Is this going on? Just kind of talking to them about it and making them aware of these situations," says Lindsay Bernard with the Southside Rotary.
The program will tie-in to Literacy Month throughout March.
The campaign includes visits to Hosea, Hyde and Lake Contrary schools.
