Attorney Claims Bowe is '100% Innocent'

Attorney claims Chiefs receiver is innocent after arrest for speeding and marijuana possession.
(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) A statement released by an attorney for Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe, says the player is innocent after his arrest for speeding and possession of marijuana.

In a statement released Wednesday, Kevin Regan states, "My investigation reveals that Dwayne Bowe is unequivocally, 100 percent innocent in this matter. We look forward to clearing his good name at our earliest opportunity."

Bowe was arrested Sunday night in Riverside, Mo., for speeding and possession of a controlled substance.

Riverside police pulled Bowe over for driving 48 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, and found more than ten grams of marijuana in a bag. An additional 4.2 grams were in a passenger's backpack.

In the statement, Regan also says Bowe has been a giving member of the community and is grateful for  support from Chiefs fans.

In 2009, Bowe served a four-game suspension after violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Bowe claimed a weight-loss supplement resulted in the positive drug test.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced Wednesday that Bowe will start Sunday's game against the Broncos in Denver.
