Bad Results for Small Cars in Crash Safety Test

The results of the latest crash tests for small cars are out, and only one received a good rating.
(ABC News) The results of the latest crash tests for small cars are out, and only one received a good rating.

The four-door Mini Cooper Countryman was the only one out of 12 small cars tested to earn a "good" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in its latest round of new front-end crash testing.

Chevrolet's hybrid Volt earned an "acceptable" rating and also received a top Safety Pick Plus Award because it is the only one with an available front crash prevention system.

The Mazda-5 was among the worst performers in the tests.

Its side air bags didn't deploy and the driver's side door unlatched during the test.
