"The excitement of the people and everything. Me and James, we just love it. So, we have fun with it," said Hulser.
Hulser and McCarthy have turned their homes into dancing Christmas light shows for the past five years. They work together to build their decorations and set up their displays.
"We help each other out, build each other's sequences, upgrades to the shows. We work very closely together to do both of our shows," said McCarthy.
This year, they added handmade Christmas trees.
"We made our trees, out front. The 16-foot trees," said Hulser.
"We call it a super-star tree. That has 12 ribbons on it. You can program the pixels to do different things. You can change it to different colors. You can make images," said McCarthy.
The images and lights are programed by a software called Light-O-Rama.
"I'm able to synchronize all of my Christmas lights through the computer to run with the different songs that I choose to do," said McCarthy.
The music plays through local radio stations. James has four songs, on rotation, on 89.9 FM, while Jerry has 17 on 107.1 FM.
"We're adding two more songs in there on him. So, he's going to try to get them in there this year, too," said Hulser.
But, there's no battle among the two.
They said they just want the community to come out, enjoy their shows, and their 50,000 lights.
"It is very touching that people come. They look forward to it year-round," said McCarthy.
"I like making people happy," said Hulser.
