Buchanan County Clerk Candidate Hosts Campaign Breakfast

Alec Jennings, who is running for Buchanan County Clerk, hosted a breakfast, at the Pony Express Museum, to kick off his campaign.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Alec Jennings, who is running for Buchanan County Clerk, hosted a breakfast, Saturday morning, to kick off his campaign

The breakfast was free and open to the public. That was Jennings' way to meet people, listen to their stories and share his plans if elected as County Clerk.

Jennings' campaign theme is 'Every Vote, Every Voice.'

He said his main goal is to make sure everyone's voice is heard.

"Our campaign's always been about going out, reaching out to people who aren't normally invited in the political process. So, we wanted to hold it on a Saturday morning, so folks who might not be at work, might be able to come in. So, we wanted to be able to get out and say hi to folks," he said.

Jennings will run as a democrat, and will face the current County Clerk, Mary Caack-Garvey.

Primary elections are August 5.
