The Doniphan County Chamber of Commerce awarded businessmen and women today for their contributions in the community.
Special awards went to Norman Meng, a farmer from Troy. He took home the Quiet Hero Award.
The Chamber also recognized Bill Clark with the True Leader Award for his years of service as the owner of Highland Total. He recently retired.
Aside from awards, the event also highlights success stories from the Entrepreneurship Academy.
"That gives high school students the opportunity to develop their own business. As a result of that, we have three existing businesses in the county from graduates of that program. So, you can see an immediate benefit from helping those students understand what it takes to start a business," said Craig Mosher, Chamber president.
Scholarships go out to students during the event as well.
The awards ceremony takes place each June during Business Appreciation Month.
