They say riding bicycles not only promotes a healthier lifestyle but also helps the environment. In it's sixth year in St. Joseph, leaders hope more people will participate in the future.
"Some people are kind of intimidated by biking on the road because of cars. I think if we can try to do it one day to get everyone to test and see how they like it and encourage them to bike to work," stated Ty Nagle, transportation planner for MPO.
Several businesses are offering discounts to patrons who bike to their business. Bike to these businesses for a discount: Pony Expresso Cafe, Barbosas Mexican Restaurants, The Lucky Tiger, The Ground Round, Piatto 614, Delish Bakery and Foster's.
Patrons will also earn free transit rides if your board with a bicycle and the REC Center will offer a one day free pass if you bike to the center.
