The five-day event is giving over 30 kids a taste of a new sport each day. Coaches and student athletes from around St. Joseph are providing beginners lessons in football, soccer, baseball, and basketball.
Cathedral produced many students who played a big role in the recent success of Bishop LeBlond athletics. Several of those students are taking part in the camp at their former school. Head baseball coach Greg Kastner and assistant softball coach Lindee Corkins were among those leading the baseball and softball portion on Tuesday evening.
Benton head football coach Matt Tabor and players will run the flag football portion on Wednesday.
"They need to learn from skills from people who really know how to coach," Cathedral teacher Mary Ann Didde said. "If we can just do a fun intro to four sports, it would just be a great way for these kids to learn some basic skills."
