Continuum of Care Offering Homeless Resource Fair

As homelessness in St. Joseph hits an all-time high, agencies are working together to get them the help get what they need.

The Continuum of Care is organizing a resource fair for homeless people called "Project Homeless Connect".

It is targeted specifically for homeless people, and getting them the tools and resources they need to help them move toward obtaining a home.

Jodi Bloemker, event organizer said, "Connecting to resources is key, and something as simple as getting information on housing, or maybe how to pay a back half on a utility bill and what resources are out there for that. It seems relatively simple, but it is something that can help someone move into permanent housing."

The fair will be held Tuesday October 19 at the Salvation Army.

For more information on how to get involved with Project Homeless Connect; you can contact Jodi Bloemker at the United Way offices at 816-364-2381.
