Country Club Village Awaiting State Audit Results

State auditors have completed their field work in their investigation of the books at Country Club Village. At issue is how taxes some say dedicated for road repairs are actually being spent.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)  State auditors have completed their field work of an audit of Country Club Village.

Residents had petitioned for an audit based on concerns with how some tax dollars were being used.

Some say a motor fuel tax and dedicated sales tax revenues were being put into the general budget improperly instead of being spent specifically for road repairs.

The controversy may have played a part in elections earlier this month.

Two board of trustee members up for reelection were voted out of office.

A final auditor's report will be issued in the next two to three months.
