(ST. JOSEPH) Missouri Western's roster has had the most turnaround in the MIAA since the season began, and the Griffons continued to deal with rotation changes on Saturday.
After senior forward Dzenan Mrkaljevic walked away from the team and senior guard Adarius Fulton was cut for disciplinary reasons, MWSU dropped their fourth straight game, a 78-60 loss to Missouri Southern.
The Griffons (9-14, 4-11) kept the deficit at single digits for much of the first half, trailing 43-34 at halftime. A 9-2 run over the first four minutes of the second half pulled them to within a possession.
From there, MSSU (17-5, 11-4) nailed five three-pointers over the final 12 minutes to hold off a rally. Marquis Addison knocked down two of them on his way to a team-high 14 points. Austin Wright hit the other three off the bench.
Ryan Devers went 7 for 24 from the field to lead MWSU with 16 points. Cortrez Colbert, Charlie Marquardt, and Kalvin Balque all added 11.
