Driver Injured After Slamming in to Utility Pole

The 26-year-old man was speeding and has moderate injuries.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A 26-year-old man is recovering after crashing his car into a utility pole in St. Joseph Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. at 27th and Olive.

Police say the man was speeding, lost control of his car and rammed into the pole.

Neighbors in the area say the man went airborne because he was going so fast.

Police say he was wearing a seat belt.

The man suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

Nobody on the ground was hurt.
