James Kelley, an Eagle Scout, was honored with a life saving badge after he gave CPR on his 11-year-old brother last year, allowing him to live an extra eight days.
Kelley used skills he learned in the Boy Scouts to stay calm and revive his brother.
He said he was surprised by the honor but doesn't consider himself a hero.
"I did what I had to do and since it was my brother, I'd do it all over again if I had to," Kelley said.
James' brother died 8 days later, but that extra time allowed him to donate his organs and save even more lives.
Only about 6,200 Medal of Merit awards have ever been given out by the Boy Scouts.
