Family Stops Kidnapping Attempt

A St. Joseph family stopped a kidnapping attempt in the city's midtown area early Tuesday morning.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) St. Joseph police have taken two men into custody this morning after a family intervened and stopped a kidnapping attempt.

According to Sgt. Keith Dudley of the St. Joseph Police Department, the incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the 1700 block of Jules Street.

Police say two male suspects were parked in a car along the street when a female was walking to her vehicle and one of the men attempted to pull her into the car.

Family members of the victim were able to step in and stop the kidnapping attempt before she was taken into the car.

Sgt. Dudley says that police were able to locate the vehicle shortly after the kidnapping attempt and they have two suspects in custody this morning.
