Fireworks Stores Stay Busy Leading Up to the 4th of July

Fireworks stands and stores have been open for two weeks, but customers are still making last minute trips to stock up for their holiday celebrations.
( ST. JOSEPH, MO. ) After the sun sets on the Fourth of July, the sky typically lights up with fireworks. With only a few hours until that time, customers were making last minute trips to area fireworks stores.

Despite the crowds, PJ Kovac, owner of PJ's Fireworks, says it didn't take long to ring everyone up.

"Don't let the crowd scare you away. We'll get you in and out as quick as you want."

Customers, including Clinton Parker, knew that as the 4th got closer, fireworks stores would be busier, but that didn't stop him from coming in.

"When you come more toward the 4th of July you're gonna have, you know, a little bit of a crowd, but then you start getting your deals and everything," said Parker.

Parker plans to enjoy the evening, and the fireworks add to his 4th of July festivities.

"When we get back home, fire up the smoker, get my rack of ribs on there. And probably go ahead and light some of these off. Just for an early start. Everybody have a happy 4th."
