The win improves the Griffons to 3-0 to start the season.
MWSU held Illinois-Springfield (0-1) to just under 25 percent from the floor and just 18 points in the second half. They also won the battle of the boards by a 45-31 margin.
Ariana Novak led all scorers with 15 points, nailing a three of the Griffon's seven shots from beyond the arc. MWSU shot 52 percent from the floor overall.
Alexis Gray finished with 11 points, while Quenisha Lockett and Sharniece Lewis each poured in 10.
Alysa Palmer scored 10 points as Illinois-Springifeld's only player to finish in double figures.
The Griffons return to action next Saturday, Nov. 23rd at Rockhurst University in Kansas City.
