It's the first conference championship for MWSU since winning a share of the regular season title in 2011.
Playing on the tournament's final day with no losses for the first time, the Griffons never looked back after grabbing a two-run lead in the second inning. Kat Steponovich scored on an error by center fielder Megan Robison before Morgan Rathmann followed that by grounding into a fielder's choice that plated Katie Klosterman.
Rathmann also hit her second home run in two days as she and Kailey Green each drove in three runs. Green and Sydney McCune also launched pinch-hit homers.
Bishop (25-8) allowed one hit and one walk on 108 pitches. The senior was dominant throughout 24 innings of work in the tournament, compiling 37 strikeouts while giving up just three runs.
MWSU (38-16, 18-9) will now wait to find out their seeding in the NCAA Central Regional, which will be announced at 9 a.m. on Monday. The Griffons came in at sixth in the last regional rankings.
