(JOPLIN, Mo.) Wednesday's narrow loss at Northwest lit a fire under Missouri Southern, who took their frustrations out on the Griffons on Saturday.
The 22nd-ranked Lions shot 68 percent from the floor and went 8-for-11 from three-point range in a 105-71 rout of Missouri Western.

MWSU (8-10, 3-7) got down 54-33 at halftime and, despite four Griffons finishing in double figures, trailed by double digits for the entire second half. The deficit grew to as many as 40 with under five minutes left.
Ryan Devers led MWSU with 14 points, while Kalvin Balque and Dzenan Mrkaljevic both added 12 off the bench.
Missouri Western Women 50, Missouri Southern 65
(JOPLIN, Mo.) The Missouri Western women entered Joplin on Saturday on the backs of two much-needed wins.
They couldn't push their streak to three, however, as the Griffons lost 65-50 to Missouri Southern.
MWSU (7-10, 2-8) grabbed a 5-4 lead on a JaQuitta Dever three-pointer in the first four minutes, but trailed the rest of the game. No Griffon finished in double figures as Jallisa Lewis and Tiara Hall both posted a team-high nine points. Lewis also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
The Griffons cut the lead to five with 5:30 to go, but an 11-0 MSSU run built an insurmountable advantage over the next three minutes.
It's the fifth straight win for the Lions (14-3, 8-2), who have now bested the Griffons and Northwest in back-to-back outings. Dominique Mosley led all scorers with 14 points.
