(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) This week is National Community Health Center week. Northwest Health Services is holding focus group meetings to get views on health care from the community. Those attending include public officials, users of the system, and members of the community. CEO Ben Ernst has specific goals in mind when attending these meetings.
"One is awareness. Two is part of our grant. We are required to go out and do a needs assessment and a community assessment to ask the public, get them engaged around what it is we do and whether we're doing a good job at it," said Northwest Health Services CEO Ben Ernst.
Topics the public brought up were availability of resources and the current state of health care. National Community Health Center week is every year in the middle of August.
