Heat Forces Changes to High School Football's Opening Night

Excessive heat is causing schools to push game time back.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) With the high temperature expected to reach 96 degrees on Friday, high school officials are pushing football games back to avoid the heat.

Games across the area are being bumped from 7pm to 7:30 or 8pm on the opening night of high school football in Missouri.

A list of contests with late starts is below.

Lafayette at North Kansas City, 8pm
LeBlond at Pembroke Hill, 8pm
Central at Kearney, 8pm
Maryville at Lawson, 8pm
Mid-Buch at King City, 8pm
Marshall at Chillicothe, 8pm
South Harrison at Hamilton, 8pm
Plattsburg at Cameron, 8pm
East Buchanan at Maysville, 8pm
South Nodaway at Hardin-Central, 8pm
Nodaway-Holt at South Holt, 8pm
Trenton at Carrollton, 7:30pm
