KC Chiefs Training Camp: What to Know Before You Go

If you're packing up for Chiefs camp, we have a few tips that could help out.

(St. Joseph, Mo.) Despite the last minute deal between NFL owners and players, everything is falling into place on Missouri Westerns campus for the start of the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp.

A full schedule was released by MWSU officials Thursday, and events will play out much like they did the team's first year training in St. Joseph.

"For the most part it'll be much like last year," said MWSU's interim Athletic Director, Dan Nicoson. "There will be a few improvements in parking and concession prices."

All Chiefs outdoor training camp practices at Missouri Western are free and open to the public (other than family fun day), but it's five dollars to park on a campus lot.

If you're looking to avoid the congestion, Legends Sports Complex (on the Belt Highway and Faraon) is offering a free shuttle service to and from Missouri Western's campus.

The heat index will be in the triple digits the first week of camp, and most practices will be outdoors. Campus officials will let fans in with bottled water, but all other concessions need to be purchased once inside.

The Chiefs big days in St. Joseph will be:

 • Friday, July 29th is the "Red Rally" welcoming the team back to camp. Events start at 1:30pm, followed by the first practice at 3:30.
 • Saturday, August 6th is Family Fun Day. Activities kick off at 1:30PM, and the cost is $12.00 for anyone ages three and older. All parking is free on Family Fun Day.
 • Wednesday, August 3rd & 10th players will practice at night, starting at 7:15pm
