The protest ended with the group being ushered out of the building and the arrests of more than a dozen church leaders.
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) More than a dozen clergymen and women were arrested Tuesday after a protest in the Missouri Senate Gallery.

Hundreds of faith leaders were there to advocate for Medicaid reform.

Many of the lawmakers who are against Medicaid expansion walked out of the room while the group chanted "bring dignity" and "do not block expansion."

The protest ended with the group being ushered out of the building and the arrests of more than a dozen church leaders.

Governor Jay Nixon has been trying to get Medicaid Expansion passed for more than a year but many other lawmakers in the House and Senate disagree with expanding the aid program.
