Midland Empire Resources for Independent Living, MERIL, celebrated its 20th anniversary Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
For the past two decades, MERIL has worked to provide resources related to education, transportation and emergency services to those with disabilities.
The services help them get around easier, but also stay in their homes without the need for constant care.
Several agencies were on hand to help them celebrate.
They say the show of support speaks volumes about the organization and the community.
"This is amazing. We do conferences all over the state of Missouri and this is one of the biggest turnouts that I've dealt with," said MO Housing Executive Director Wayne Crawford. "The thing that's amazing is that so many organizations in St. Joe are willing to collaborate. You don't find that in many communities."
MERIL serves nine counties in northwest Missouri.
