Michelle Obama Changes Plans to Speak at Kansas High School Graduation

The White House says the first lady will now speak a day before the official graduation at a senior recognition day.
(CNN) First lady Michelle Obama will no longer speak at a high school graduation ceremony in Topeka, Kansas.

She changed her plans after protesters complained her appearance would mean fewer family members could attend because seating would be more limited.

The White House says the first lady will now speak a day before the official graduation at a senior recognition day.

Her speech will come a day before the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling that barred school segregation.

The case originated in Topeka.
