The $1.2 million dollar bond, that failed the first time around, would go toward a number of things. But, most would fund a multi-purpose room that serves as a tornado shelter.
The shelter would hold 1,000 people.
Part of the bond would fix bleachers at the football stadium that currently do not meet liability standards, and the rest would help fund new alarms and video surveillance systems.
"The money we're trying to build will be 100% put toward things that will make our building, and our facility, and our community safer and more secure," said John James, Superintendent of Mid-Buchanan R-V.
If the bond passes, the shelter will be completed by July 2016.
