Missouri Ethics Commission Trains Candidates about Campaign Finances

The Missouri Ethics Commission will hold a special training session for candidates about campaign finances.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Missouri Ethics Commission will hold a special training session for candidates about campaign finances. The finance training will teach upcoming candidates and how to manage and record finances during an election.

The session will also provide information about how fundraiser money can be spent. The Buchanan County clerks office says it's important to have this type of training available so candidates can be sure to track and report money correctly.

"Because we have so many candidates right now that are doing fundraising, we just feel it's important because it's something that's new to them and there is a lot of steps and it's kind of confusing," stated Chief Deputy Clerk Sandy Wood.

The training is Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.  at the court house in the Tom Mann conference room. The session is free and open to the public.
