Representatives from Missouri American Water have met with two dozen customers personally to talk about issues with their water bill. The company says there are issues with some customers understanding the bill estimation process.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Missouri American Water says there are some issues with their bill estimation process and problems with customers' understanding of the system.
Water company representatives have sat down individually with at least 25 customers to iron out billing problems.
This comes after our stories last week where one St. Joseph couple had problems resolving a $1,600 water bill they had received in error.
That story uncovered dozens of other cases from water customers who also said they had errors with their bills.
Based on these multiple complaints, the Missouri Public Service Commission has opened up an investigation of Missouri American.
