Alicca Williams appeared before a judge Thursday and waived her rights to a trial. She originally pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecutors say her 1-year-old son was not properly restrained when his mother lost control of her car on an icy road in January and crashed into a snow plow on Route C.
Prosecutors say Williams was also driving without a license and insurance at the time of the accident. She also had warrants out for her arrest.
Williams was emotional in court Thursday as she explained what happened leading up to the crash that claimed her son's life.
"The road was icy and he wasn't in a seat belt that resulted in his death," said Williams.
The maximum sentence for this offense is 7 years in the Department of Corrections. Williams is expected in court May 22 for sentencing.
