(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph man was sent to the hospital after a two vehicle crash on South 22nd Street Thursday evening.

38-year-old Trent Strayer was driving his motorcycle north on 22nd Street near Seneca shortly after 6 p.m., when he ran into the back of a van in front of him.

Witnesses say Strayer flew over the top of his motorcycle and through the back glass of the van.

"When the van stopped, the motorcycle rider slammed on his brakes and slid and collided with the back of the van," said Landon Davis, who was a witness to the crash. "When he hit the back of the van, he went in the back about to his midsection."

Strayer sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Heartland Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
